Cookie policy
Short version: we use a single first-party technical cookie, to remember what you choose in the notice. No analytics, no advertising, no third parties.
Last updated: 7 October 2026
1. What a cookie is and what it is for
A cookie is a very small text file that a website asks your browser to store on the device you are visiting from: a computer, a phone or a tablet. When you come back to that site, the browser hands it back, and so the site can recognise something about you or about your previous visit.
Its generic function is precisely that: to remember. Depending on what it is used for, a cookie can keep a session open, store preferences such as language or text size, make a site work properly, count how many people visit and which pages they look at, or gradually build a profile of your browsing habits in order to show you advertising based on it.
In this policy the word “cookies” is used broadly: it also covers other technologies that store or read information on your device and that the law treats in the same way, such as the browser's local storage or tracking pixels.
2. Types of cookies: origin, duration and purpose
Cookies are classified in three ways, which combine with one another. Any given cookie always has an origin, a duration and a purpose.
By who manages them (origin):
- First-party: sent and managed by the owner of the website you are visiting. Here, Tupé Peluquería.
- Third-party: sent and managed by an entity other than the site owner, usually because the site embeds someone else's content in its pages: a map, a video, a social media button or a statistics tool.
By how long they last (duration):
- Session: deleted by themselves as soon as you close the browser.
- Persistent: they stay on your device for the specific period set by whoever installs them, and can be read on later visits until they expire or you delete them.
By what they are for (purpose):
- Technical or necessary: essential for the site to work and to provide the service you asked for, including remembering what you decide in the cookie notice. They are the only ones that do not require your consent.
- Preference or personalisation: they remember your settings, such as language, region or the look of the page.
- Analytics or measurement: they count and study visits in order to produce usage statistics.
- Advertising: they manage a site's advertising space. And behavioural advertising ones, which additionally observe your browsing habits in order to show you tailored ads.
With the general scheme set out, here is what actually applies: this website uses a single cookie, first-party, persistent and technical in purpose. It uses no preference cookies, no analytics or measurement cookies, no advertising or behavioural advertising cookies, no profiling and no third-party cookies. It has no statistics tool installed —there is no Google Analytics or equivalent— and no advertising pixel. Fonts and images are served from this same domain.
3. Cookies used by this site
| Name | Origin and type | Owner | Purpose | Retention period |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| tupe-consentimiento | First-party · Technical (necessary) · Persistent | María Luisa Sánchez Reverte (Tupé Peluquería) | To store whether you accepted or rejected cookies, so the notice is not repeated on every page and your decision is respected as you browse. | 6 months from the moment you choose. After that it expires by itself and you are asked again. You can delete it earlier from your browser. |
That cookie stores only the word “aceptado” or “rechazado”. It collects no personal data, does not allow you to be identified, is not combined with any other information and is not disclosed to anyone. Remembering your decision —including when it is to reject— is a necessary technical purpose, expressly accepted by the Spanish Data Protection Agency's guidance on the use of cookies: without it you would have to be asked again on every page you opened.
The six-month period is not arbitrary: it follows the Agency's own criterion of renewing the choice periodically rather than taking it for granted forever. This site previously stored your answer in the browser's local storage, which never expires; it was replaced by this cookie precisely so that there is a real period and so that it can be declared to you here.
4. How to accept, refuse or withdraw your consent
The first time you visit, a notice appears at the bottom of the screen with two buttons, “Accept” and “Reject”. Both have the same size, the same typeface and the same ease of use: rejecting takes exactly one click, just like accepting.
The notice does not close until you choose one of the two options. Consent is not inferred from silence, from continuing to browse, from scrolling, or from letting time pass. Until you choose, nothing is stored.
If you reject, no cookie is installed beyond the technical one described in the previous section, which is the one storing that very “no”. The site keeps working normally: no content is withheld from you and you are not asked again until the six months are up.
To change your mind at any time, there is a Cookie preferences link in the footer of every page on this site. Pressing it opens the same notice again, with the same two buttons, and your new choice replaces the previous one. Withdrawing consent is therefore as simple as giving it was.
You can also delete the cookie directly from your browser, as explained in section 6. If you do, the notice will appear again the next time you visit.
5. Third-party cookies: the Google map
The “Visit us” section of the home page has a Google map showing where the salon is. Google sets third-party cookies as soon as that map loads, so we do not load it by default: instead you see a box with a button, and the map loads only if you press it. If you do not press it, Google receives absolutely nothing from this site, not even your IP address.
Pressing that button is your decision and applies only to that visit and that content: it activates nothing else anywhere on the site. If you do load it, Google may set the following cookies, which belong to Google and are governed by its terms:
| Name | Origin and type | Owner | Purpose | Retention period |
|---|---|---|---|---|
NID | Third party · Preferences · Persistent | Remembers your preferences in Google services, such as language, and other usage information. | 6 months from your last use of Google services. | |
AEC | Third party · Technical (security) · Persistent | Checks that requests are made by a person and not by an automated program, to prevent fraud and abuse. | 6 months. | |
SOCS | Third party · Technical · Persistent | Stores the choice you made about cookies in Google services. | 13 months. | |
__Secure-ENID | Third party · Preferences and security · Persistent | Remembers your preferences and protects against fraudulent access. | 13 months. |
This is the information published by Google itself in its cookie information. Google decides which specific cookies it sets in each case and may change them; the up-to-date list is always available there. Next to the button there is also a link to open the same address in Google Maps, in a separate tab, if you would rather not load anything inside this site.
The Facebook and Instagram links in the footer are ordinary links: they load nothing from those networks inside this site and set no cookies. Their policies apply only if you press them and leave for their sites.
6. Managing or deleting cookies from your browser
Whatever you choose in the notice, any browser lets you allow, block or delete the cookies already stored from any site. Here are the instructions for the most common ones:
Bear in mind that if you block all cookies, this site will not be able to remember your choice and will show you the notice every time you visit.
7. Changes to this policy
This policy is updated whenever the cookies used or the applicable rules change. If any analytics, advertising or third-party cookie were added in future, it would be listed in the table in section 3 with its purpose and its retention period, and it would not be installed until your consent had first been obtained.
8. Applicable law and contact
This policy is governed by article 22.2 of Spanish Act 34/2002 of 11 July on Information Society Services and Electronic Commerce (LSSI-CE), by Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and by Organic Act 3/2018 (LOPDGDD), and follows the criteria of the Spanish Data Protection Agency's guidance on the use of cookies.
